The HARVEY TOOL 14031-C3 is a square end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature applications. Built from solid carbide, this single-end tool measures 0.031 inches in diameter with a 0.046-inch length of cut and a 1/8-inch shank diameter, making it well suited for micro-milling work where rigidity and edge integrity are critical. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in harder workpiece materials. With a 30-degree helix angle and 4 flutes, the 14031-C3 is engineered for efficient chip evacuation at small diameters. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters working in aerospace, medical device, mold-and-die, and precision instrument manufacturing will recognize this geometry as a standard configuration for miniature end milling.
This end mill is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups where small-diameter tooling is required. The centercutting capability allows the operator to plunge directly into the workpiece, expanding its use in slotting and pocket milling operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are the conventional orientation for standard CNC mill programs. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 1/8-inch shank, this tool fits collets and tool holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and micro-milling platforms.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and micro-milling spindles accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the drawbar or collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. At 0.031 inches in diameter, this tool is highly susceptible to runout-induced breakage — verify TIR at the collet before cutting.
