The HARVEY TOOL 12740-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision machining in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.04-inch cutting diameter and a 3-flute geometry, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in die, mold, and prototype machining environments. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in small-diameter applications. An AlTiN coating extends tool life and improves heat resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The 1/8-inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collet toolholding systems. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in jobshop and production environments will find this tool suited for fine-feature milling and slot work.
This end mill is designed for single-end use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where precision small-diameter cutting is required. The 13/64-inch length of cut supports both shallow and moderate-depth slots and pockets. With centercutting capability and right-hand cutting and flute direction, it handles plunge and ramp entry operations. Its 2.5-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard setups without sacrificing rigidity. This tool is well suited to finish milling, contouring, and slotting passes in tool steel, hardened alloys, stainless, and aluminum.
Designed for use with 1/8-inch collet toolholders in CNC machining centers and manual mills requiring small-diameter solid carbide end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet to the recommended grip depth and torque the collet nut to the toolholder specification before running. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before each use, as small-diameter carbide end mills are susceptible to edge chipping if dropped or improperly stored.
