The HARVEY TOOL 11525-C3 is a solid carbide spotting drill designed to create precise starter holes that guide twist drills, reamers, and other rotary cutting tools to exact locations on a workpiece. Built with a 90-degree point angle and a 0.125-inch cutting diameter, this tool establishes accurate drill entry points while minimizing walking and runout. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in harder workpiece materials. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a 0.375-inch flute length, the 11525-C3 is suited for close-tolerance work where positional accuracy is critical. It is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This spotting drill fits standard applications in metalworking shops, toolrooms, and production machining environments. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard collet chucks and drill chucks without special toolholding adapters. The Harvey Type I point geometry and two-flute spiral design allow clean chip evacuation during the spotting operation. It is appropriate for general-purpose spotting in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a 90-degree countersink-style entry point is required before finish drilling.
Designed as an OEM-style spotting drill for use in standard collet chucks and drill chucks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool from the toolholder. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run. Follow shop-specific speeds and feeds for carbide tooling in the workpiece material being machined.
