The HARVEST LANE HONEY WWIC-101 is a beehive inner cover designed to fit between the top brood or honey box and the outer hive top. It acts as a barrier layer that simplifies hive inspection by preventing the outer cover from being propolized directly to the top box. The inner cover also provides an additional buffer against the elements, reducing heat loss in cooler conditions and limiting moisture buildup inside the hive. Beekeepers use it as a standard component in Langstroth-style hive assemblies. It can double as a feeding board when a top feeder or jar feeder is placed above it, making it a versatile part of routine hive management.
This inner cover is suited for hobbyist and small-scale commercial beekeeping operations. It installs as part of a standard Langstroth hive stack, sitting directly on top of the uppermost box before the outer telescoping cover is placed. It is commonly used year-round and is particularly helpful during inspections and supplemental feeding periods when access to the top of the hive colony is needed without fully disturbing the nest.
Designed as a standard inner cover for use with Langstroth-style beehive assemblies commonly found in hobbyist and small-scale commercial beekeeping setups.
Installation is performed by the beekeeper during hive assembly or inspection. Place the inner cover flat on top of the uppermost hive body or super before setting the outer telescoping cover in position. Ensure the ventilation notch, if present, faces the front of the hive for proper airflow. Always wear appropriate protective gear and use a smoker before opening the hive for installation or inspection.
