The HARVEST LANE HONEY QEM-102 is a metal queen bee excluder designed to control where the queen lays eggs inside a beehive. The excluder creates a physical barrier with openings sized to allow worker bees to pass through freely while blocking the larger queen. This selective passage keeps brood confined to the brood box and keeps honey supers free of eggs and larvae. Beekeepers and apiary technicians install this component as part of standard hive management practice to maintain clean honey production frames.
The QEM-102 is used in standard Langstroth-style hive setups. It is placed between the top brood box and the medium honey super to separate the brood nest from the honey-storage section of the hive. The metal construction provides durability through repeated seasonal use and is resistant to the wax, propolis, and moisture conditions found inside an active hive. This excluder is sold in a package of 6 units, making it suitable for managing multiple hives in a single apiary operation.
Designed for use with standard Langstroth beehive configurations, installed between the top brood box and medium honey super.
Installation is performed by beekeepers and apiary technicians during hive inspection or setup. The excluder should be installed only after the honey super has been drawn out by the colony. Place the excluder flat and level across the top of the brood box before setting the honey super on top. Inspect the excluder periodically for propolis buildup or warping that could compromise the seal between hive bodies.
