The HART COOLEY 7ral is a 7-inch double-wall round 90-degree elbow designed for Type B gas vent systems. This fitting redirects flue gas flow at a 90-degree angle within a venting assembly, making it a standard component in residential and light commercial gas appliance installations. The double-wall construction maintains draft integrity and meets the clearance-to-combustible requirements associated with Type B vent systems. HVAC technicians and plumbers install this elbow as part of a complete B-vent run connecting gas furnaces, water heaters, boilers, and similar Category I appliances to a masonry or factory-built chimney or vertical vent terminal.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial venting applications where a 90-degree directional change is required in the vent run. Common installations include gas furnace flue connections in utility rooms, horizontal-to-vertical transitions in tight mechanical spaces, and water heater venting routed through interior walls to a chase. The round profile and standard flat configuration allow straightforward connection to compatible 7-inch B-vent pipe sections and fittings within the same vent system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 7-inch Type B double-wall round vent systems used with Category I gas appliances.
Type B vent systems are installed by licensed HVAC technicians or plumbers in accordance with NFPA 54 (National Fuel Gas Code) and local mechanical codes. Shut off gas supply and allow the appliance to cool completely before servicing or modifying any vent component. Maintain required clearances to combustible materials as specified by the vent manufacturer and applicable codes. Do not use Type B vent fittings with appliances requiring Type L or Type PL vent, or with Category III or IV appliances that produce positive vent pressure or condensate.
