The HART COOLEY 7r5 is a double-wall Type B round vent pipe designed for Category 1 gas appliance venting applications. It measures 7 inches in diameter and 5 feet in length, featuring an aluminum inner wall and a galvanized steel outer wall. The double-wall construction creates an insulating air space between the two walls, which helps maintain flue gas temperatures and reduces the risk of condensation inside the vent. HVAC technicians and plumbers install this pipe as part of venting systems for natural gas and propane appliances, including furnaces, water heaters, and boilers that operate within Category 1 parameters.
This pipe is suited for residential and light commercial installations where a Category 1, non-positive vent pressure appliance requires a listed Type B gas vent. The 7-inch diameter accommodates higher-capacity equipment with correspondingly larger flue collar requirements. At 5 feet per section, it covers meaningful vertical or horizontal runs efficiently. Installers typically use this pipe in conjunction with matching Type B elbows, tees, and termination caps from the same vent system to maintain listing compliance throughout the assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation component for Category 1 gas appliance venting systems requiring 7-inch Type B double-wall round vent pipe.
Type B gas vent pipe must be installed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber in accordance with the appliance manufacturer instructions, NFPA 54 (National Fuel Gas Code), and applicable local mechanical codes. Shut off the gas supply and allow the appliance to cool completely before servicing or extending any vent system. Maintain required clearances to combustibles as specified by the vent system listing — do not reduce these clearances with insulation or other materials. All joints and connections must use components from a single listed vent system; mixing components from different manufacturers or vent types is not permitted.
