The HARRIS SSWF7 Stay-Silv White Brazing Flux is an all-purpose, low-temperature flux designed for silver brazing applications. It is formulated for smooth, even application and provides consistent protection throughout the braze heating cycle. As the workpiece approaches brazing temperature, the flux turns clear, giving the technician a reliable visual indicator that it is ready to apply braze wire or rod. Packaged in a 6.5 oz jar with a brush cap for direct, controlled application. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals will find this flux suitable for a broad range of brazed joint work.
This flux is suited for residential and commercial brazing work involving cast iron, copper, brass, bronze, and steel. It is commonly used in HVAC refrigerant line fabrication, plumbing pipe joining, and general mechanical brazing wherever silver filler metal is specified. It is not compatible with aluminum, magnesium, or titanium. The brush cap jar design allows for direct field application without additional tools. Post-braze flux residue must be removed after the joint cools to prevent potential corrosion on the base metal.
Designed for use with silver brazing alloys on ferrous and non-ferrous base metals including copper, brass, bronze, cast iron, and steel. Not compatible with aluminum, magnesium, or titanium base metals.
Silver brazing is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters. Always shut off and depressurize any system before brazing into an existing line. Apply flux to clean, oxide-free base metal surfaces before heating. After the joint has cooled, remove all flux residue using warm water or a wire brush to prevent corrosion at the joint.
