The HARRIS SCLF4 is a general-purpose zinc chloride liquid soldering flux designed for use with all soft solders. It performs reliably with tin-lead, tin-antimony, and Stay-Brite solder alloys across a wide range of base metals. The flux comes in a 4 oz flip-top bottle for controlled application in the field or shop. It is not intended for electrical or electronic work. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and sheet metal workers use this flux for copper, brass, and similar metal joints in plumbing and mechanical systems.
This flux is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant piping, and general sheet metal work where soft-solder joints are required. The flip-top cap makes it practical for bench work and on-site installs. It is compatible with virtually all common metals used in trade applications, with the exception of aluminum, magnesium, and titanium, which should not be soldered with this product.
Designed for use with tin-lead, tin-antimony, and Stay-Brite soft solders on most metals, excluding aluminum, magnesium, and titanium. Not suitable for electrical or electronic soldering applications.
Applied by plumbers and HVAC technicians before soldering copper and brass fittings. Clean and deburr mating surfaces before applying flux to ensure proper solder flow and joint integrity. Follow local plumbing codes and manufacturer solder-to-flux pairing recommendations. After soldering, remove flux residue with water, as zinc chloride flux residue is corrosive if left on the joint.
