The HARCO 69-3115EC is a socket fusion reducer coupling designed for HDPE water distribution piping. It transitions a 1.5-inch pipe down to a 1-inch pipe using a heat-fusion joining method that creates a continuous, leak-resistant polyethylene joint. The fitting is manufactured in black HDPE, which is standard for water service applications. Plumbers and water system installers use this fitting when reducing pipe size within a buried or above-grade HDPE water line. Its socket fusion design requires a compatible fusion tool set to heat both the fitting socket and pipe end before joining.
This reducer coupling is suited for potable water and general water distribution systems that use HDPE piping. It is a common fitting in residential and light commercial water service installations, irrigation mains, and geothermal supply lines where HDPE is specified. The socket fusion end connection style is appropriate for field joints in new construction or repair of existing HDPE water systems.
Designed as an OEM-style socket fusion fitting for use with 1.5-inch by 1-inch HDPE water pipe in standard water distribution applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipe fusion technician using a calibrated socket fusion tool set. Depressurize and isolate the water line before cutting into an existing system. Follow the pipe and fitting manufacturer fusion time and temperature guidelines for the pipe diameter and ambient conditions. Allow the fused joint to cool undisturbed for the full recommended hold time before restoring flow or backfilling.
