The HAMMOND HP50 is a knockout hole plug designed to seal unused 0.5-inch conduit openings in electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and panel knockouts. It blocks dust, debris, and moisture from entering the enclosure through open knockouts left after conduit layout changes or unused pre-punched holes. Electricians and panel builders use this type of plug during rough-in and finish work to maintain enclosure integrity and comply with NEC requirements for closing unused openings. The HP50 is a lightweight, low-profile fitting that snaps or presses into a standard 0.5-inch knockout.
Typical applications include residential and commercial electrical panel assemblies, conduit bodies, junction boxes, and control enclosures where unused 0.5-inch knockouts must be closed. The HP50 is suited for any installation where the NEC requires all unused openings to be effectively closed to prevent the entry of foreign material and to maintain the enclosure's protection rating.
Designed as a standard knockout plug for use with 0.5-inch conduit openings in electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and panel knockouts.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified panel builders. De-energize the panel or enclosure completely before working inside any electrical enclosure. The plug is pressed firmly into the knockout opening by hand until fully seated. Verify the plug is flush and secure before closing and re-energizing the enclosure, in accordance with applicable NEC requirements.
