The HALEX/SCOTT FETZER 96193 is a zinc-plated steel locknut designed to secure conduit fittings and connectors to enclosures, panels, and junction boxes. Sold as a 2-pack, each locknut is sized for 1-inch trade-size conduit. The zinc plating provides corrosion resistance in standard indoor and covered-outdoor installations. Electricians use this type of locknut to create a tight mechanical connection between the threaded hub of a connector or fitting and the wall of an electrical enclosure, preventing movement and maintaining grounding continuity throughout the raceway system.
This locknut is intended for use with rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) at 1-inch trade size. Typical applications include commercial and residential electrical installations where conduit terminates at load centers, panel boards, junction boxes, or pull boxes. The 2-pack format suits service calls and small repairs where a single replacement plus a spare is practical. Each unit is individually packaged in a UPC polybag for inventory and retail-ready use.
Designed for use with 1-inch trade-size rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) fittings and connectors at standard threaded enclosure knockouts.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the panel or enclosure before working at any knockout entry point. Thread the locknut onto the connector or fitting hub by hand, then tighten with a locknut wrench or large flathead screwdriver and a hammer to seat the teeth firmly against the enclosure wall. Do not overtighten to the point of deforming the enclosure metal or stripping the threads.
