The HALEX/SCOTT FETZER 96161 is a two-hole electrical metallic tubing (EMT) strap designed to secure 1/2-inch EMT conduit to structural surfaces. The snap-on design allows for fast, tool-free seating of the conduit into the strap before fastening, speeding up rough-in work. Constructed from zinc plated steel, this strap resists corrosion in typical indoor and protected outdoor electrical installations. Each polybag contains 4 straps, and the package quantity is 15 bags per case. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors use this hardware during conduit installation on walls, ceilings, joists, and framing members.
This strap is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work where 1/2-inch EMT conduit must be supported at regular intervals per NEC requirements. Common applications include branch circuit conduit runs along stud bays, mechanical room installations, and panel feeder routing. The two-hole mounting pattern provides a stable, rattle-free mount compared to single-hole straps, making it a preferred choice on longer conduit runs subject to vibration or thermal expansion.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for 1/2-inch EMT conduit systems used in residential and light commercial electrical installations.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 358 requirements for EMT support spacing. Power down and lock out all circuits in the work area before securing conduit near energized components. Use appropriate fasteners for the mounting surface — wood screws for framing, masonry anchors for concrete or block. Do not overtighten fasteners, as deformation of the strap can restrict conduit seating and cause alignment issues in the run.
