The HALEX/SCOTT FETZER 58012 is a 1-1/4 inch aluminum service entrance cap designed for clamp-type installation on rigid, intermediate, or thin-wall conduit. This fitting seals the top of a service entrance conduit run, protecting the conductors from moisture and weather intrusion at the point where the service drop enters the raceway. It ships in a package of five units and is a standard component in residential and light commercial electrical service installations. Electricians specify this cap when terminating overhead service entrance conduit at the weatherhead. The all-aluminum construction resists corrosion in exposed outdoor applications.
This cap fits 1-1/4 inch conduit and is suitable for use with rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, and electrical metallic tubing in service entrance applications. The clamp-type design allows secure attachment without threading, making installation straightforward on both new construction and retrofit service upgrades. It includes two holes sized at 27/64 inches and three holes sized at 5/8 inches for conductor routing. Typical installations involve outdoor weatherhead assemblies where the service drop connects to the utility feed.

Service entrance caps are installed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC Article 230 governing services. Always de-energize and coordinate with the utility before working on or near service entrance conductors, as the service drop conductors remain energized until the utility disconnects them. Position the cap at the top of the conduit run with the conductor holes facing down and away from the structure to shed water. Ensure the clamp is tightened securely to prevent the cap from shifting under wind or cable tension.
