The HALEX 99526 is a 2-inch insulated metallic grounding bushing designed to protect wire and cable at the end of threaded conduit or a conduit connector. The bushing provides a smooth, well-rounded bearing surface that prevents conductor insulation damage at conduit terminations, as required by the NEC. It features a tin-plated, open-type lay-in lug that simplifies grounding conductor attachment without having to thread the wire through a closed lug. The die cast zinc body carries thermoplastic liners rated to 105 degrees Celsius, and the lug is dual-rated for both copper and aluminum conductors. Licensed electricians performing panel feeds, service entrances, and branch-circuit conduit terminations rely on this bushing for code-compliant installations.
This grounding bushing is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations wherever threaded metallic conduit terminates at enclosures, panels, junction boxes, or conduit connectors. The lay-in lug design speeds up grounding conductor installation in tight spaces and retrofit situations. The package contains 5 units, making it practical for multi-circuit or multi-conduit jobs. UL and CSA approvals satisfy inspection requirements across most North American jurisdictions.
Designed for use with 2-inch threaded metallic conduit and conduit connectors in applications requiring an insulated grounding bushing per NEC code requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before installing or terminating any conductors at the bushing. Thread the bushing fully onto the conduit or connector before securing the grounding conductor in the lay-in lug. Verify torque on the lug setscrew using the conductor and lug manufacturer guidelines, and confirm the conductor rating is appropriate for the installation.
