The HALEX 97526 is a plastic insulating conduit bushing designed for use with 2-inch threaded rigid conduit and IMC installations. It protects wire insulation from abrasion at conduit terminations by providing a smooth, non-metallic bearing surface at the conduit end. Rated to 105 degrees C, this bushing meets the thermal requirements of modern wiring systems. It carries UL listing for use in commercial and residential electrical installations. Electricians use this fitting wherever code requires an insulated throat at a conduit end to prevent conductor damage.
This bushing is suited for 2-inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations in both commercial and residential electrical work. Typical installation scenarios include panelboard knockouts, junction box entries, and equipment enclosure conduit entries where conductors must be protected from the cut conduit edge. The plastic construction eliminates the risk of metal-to-conductor contact at the termination point, which is a common requirement under NEC guidelines for conductor protection at conduit ends.
Designed as an OEM-style insulating bushing for 2-inch threaded rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations.
Installed by licensed electricians as part of conduit termination work governed by the National Electrical Code. De-energize the circuit and lock out the panel before working at any conduit termination point. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end by hand and tighten with a strap wrench or bushing driver until fully seated against the conduit end face. Inspect the bushing seating before pulling conductors to confirm no sharp edges are exposed.
