The HALEX 96195 is a steel reversible conduit locknut designed for use with rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC). The fully reversible design allows the locknut to be installed with either face forward, giving electricians flexibility during tight or awkward installations. Constructed from steel, this locknut provides reliable mechanical strength at conduit termination points where conduit meets enclosures, panels, and junction boxes. It is sold as a 2-pack and weighs approximately 0.112 pounds per pack. UL listed for code-compliant installations.
This locknut is suited for commercial and residential electrical work wherever rigid or IMC conduit terminates at a metallic enclosure. Common install scenarios include service entrances, subpanel feeds, junction box connections, and conduit stub-outs into equipment. The 1-1/2 inch trade size accommodates standard 1-1/2 inch rigid and IMC conduit runs. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for 1-1/2 inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations at metallic electrical enclosures and panels.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conduit terminations. De-energize the panel or enclosure before making conduit connections. Hand-tighten the locknut first, then use a locknut wrench or flat-blade screwdriver against the lugs to seat it firmly and ensure a solid mechanical and bonding connection. Avoid over-driving the locknut, which can damage enclosure knockouts.
