The HALEX 75400 is a plastic anti-short bushing designed to protect conductors where armored cable or flexible metal conduit is terminated. Installed at the open end of the conduit or cable, the bushing creates a smooth barrier between the conductor insulation and the raw metal edges of the cut sheathing. Sized for 5/16-inch fittings and rated for cable range 14/2, 14/3, and 12/2, this bushing meets UL listing requirements and is sold in a 35-piece poly bag, making it practical for rough-in work where multiple terminations are completed in a single session.
Anti-short bushings of this type are a standard requirement in residential and light commercial electrical work wherever AC cable or FMC is terminated at panels, junction boxes, outlet boxes, and fixtures. Electricians typically carry these in bulk because code requires one at every open cable end. The 35-pack format suits service calls and new-construction rough-in equally well, reducing the chance of running short mid-job.
Designed for use with 5/16-inch armored cable (AC) and flexible metal conduit (FMC) fittings supporting cable range 14/2, 14/3, and 12/2 conductors.
Anti-short bushings are installed by licensed electricians and knowledgeable installers as required by the NEC at every armored cable or flexible metal conduit termination. Always de-energize the circuit and verify the panel or circuit is locked out before working at any termination point. Insert the bushing fully into the open end of the cut cable or conduit before securing the connector, ensuring the bushing seats flush against the conductors. Do not force the bushing in a way that damages conductor insulation.
