The HALEX 26820 is a plated steel reducing washer designed to center conduit, connectors, and nipples in oversize knockouts. The concave construction seats firmly against the box wall, holding the fitting on-center and eliminating movement. Used in pairs — one washer on each side of the box — this hardware provides a secure, professional-grade fit when a knockout is larger than the fitting being installed. Each pack contains 4 washers. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install these as a standard step when working with metallic conduit systems where knockout sizes do not match fitting sizes.
These reducing washers are used in residential and commercial electrical installations wherever a 3/4-inch connector, conduit end, or nipple must be secured in a 1/2-inch knockout or vice versa. Common applications include panel boards, junction boxes, and enclosures where oversize knockouts result from manufacturer tolerances or field modifications. Installation per NEC requirements calls for fittings to be properly secured and supported at the box entry, and these washers help satisfy that requirement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use reducing washer for metallic conduit systems in residential and commercial electrical enclosures where 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch knockout reduction is required.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize the panel or enclosure before opening the box or working near any knockout entry. Install one washer on the exterior face of the box and one on the interior face, sandwiching the box wall, then tighten the fitting locknut to secure the assembly. Do not overtighten locknuts on plated steel washers, as excessive force can deform the concave seat and compromise centering.
