The HAILIANG HL15-410-0401 is a copper fitting reducer designed to transition from a 2-inch fitting-end (FTG) connection to a 3/4-inch sweat (C) connection in copper piping systems. This reducer is used where a supply line or branch line must step down in diameter within a hydronic, plumbing, or mechanical piping assembly. The FTG end slips directly into a standard solder-cup fitting, eliminating the need for an additional coupling at that joint. Constructed from copper, this fitting meets the material expectations for potable water, HVAC hydronic loops, and general plumbing distribution lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of component.
This reducer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a 2-inch main must reduce to a 3/4-inch branch or terminal line. The FTG x C end configuration allows it to be soldered directly into an existing fitting socket on the larger side while accepting a standard copper tube on the smaller end. Typical applications include domestic water distribution, radiant heating supply and return piping, and hydronic baseboard branch takeoffs. The 2-1/8-inch x 7/8-inch OD sizing reflects standard copper tube OD dimensions for 2-inch and 3/4-inch nominal sizes respectively.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 2-inch x 3/4-inch nominal copper piping systems using sweat-solder connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the water supply, and drain the affected piping before cutting or soldering. Clean and flux all mating surfaces thoroughly before applying heat to ensure a sound, leak-free sweat joint. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can compromise the copper and flux bond.
