The HAILIANG HL15-410-0224 is a copper fitting reducer designed to transition from a 1-1/4 inch fitting-turn-groove (FTG) connection to a 1/2 inch sweat (C) connection in pressurized plumbing systems. Constructed entirely from copper, this reducer maintains flow integrity while stepping down pipe diameter in supply lines. The FTG end slides over copper tubing like a fitting, while the C end accepts standard copper pipe for soldering. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during new construction and retrofit work where line size reductions are required at branch points or fixture connections.
This reducer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications including domestic water supply, hydronic heating branch lines, and similar copper piping systems. It is used wherever a 1-1/4 inch main or branch line must be reduced to a 1/2 inch supply stub. The FTG x C configuration is a common plumbing arrangement that allows inline reducer installations without an additional union or coupling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard copper plumbing systems using 1-1/4 inch and 1/2 inch nominal pipe sizes per ASTM and ASME B16.22 sweat fitting dimensions.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off and depressurize the water supply line and drain the system before cutting into existing piping. Clean and flux all mating copper surfaces before soldering; use a lead-free solder for potable water applications. Inspect the joint for full solder penetration before restoring system pressure.
