The HAILIANG HL15-165-0303 is a copper reducing coupling with stop, designed to connect two different pipe sizes in a sweat-solder (C x C) copper piping system. It transitions from a 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe size to a 1-1/4 inch nominal pipe size, with outside diameters of 1-5/8 inches and 1-3/8 inches respectively. The integrated stop prevents over-insertion, ensuring consistent, repeatable joint depth for reliable solder connections. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing distribution systems.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a copper supply or distribution line steps down in pipe diameter. Typical installations include branch takeoffs in domestic hot and cold water systems, hydronic piping loops, and in-wall or under-slab copper runs where a nominal size reduction is required at a straight inline connection point. The C x C end configuration is compatible with standard copper tubing joined by soldering or brazing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard copper plumbing systems using nominal 1-1/2 inch and 1-1/4 inch type K, L, or M copper tubing joined by sweat soldering.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off the water supply and fully depressurize and drain the line before cutting or fitting. Clean and flux all mating surfaces before soldering, and allow the joint to cool completely before restoring flow. Do not use open-flame soldering near combustible materials without appropriate shielding.
