The GWS 315070 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metals. It features a 1-inch cutting diameter, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 0.09-inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and stress concentration at the tool tip. The three-flute, right-hand helical geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during roughing passes. A ZrN (Zirconium Nitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. This is a single-end, centercutting tool suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by skilled machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
The GWS 315070 is designed for roughing operations in non-ferrous metals, particularly where a corner radius profile is required to reduce stress risers or meet part geometry requirements. The coarse pitch and high helix angle support aggressive chip loads and fast material removal rates. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance mounts cleanly in standard end mill holders. This tool is well-suited for production shops, job shops, and maintenance machining environments running non-ferrous components on vertical or horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials including aluminum, brass, and copper. Not recommended for ferrous or hardened materials.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank fully into the end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or wear before each use. Consult the machine tool and holder manufacturer guidelines for maximum runout tolerances and recommended clamping depths.
