The GWS 314086 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle, this end mill delivers aggressive chip evacuation and clean edge profiles on a wide range of workpiece materials. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating reduces friction and improves wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. At 5 inches overall length with a 2-1/2 inch reach length, this tool handles deep-pocket and extended-reach operations that shorter tools cannot access. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC machine operators in production and job-shop settings.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, and hardened materials where a submicron carbide grade and ZrN coating provide a performance advantage. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration makes it compatible with standard vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The 3/4 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders of the same bore size. The upcut flute geometry promotes chip clearing out of the cut zone, reducing re-cutting and heat buildup.
Designed for use with standard 3/4 inch bore end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Part of GWS Series 2012.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and runout specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before mounting or removing the end mill. Confirm holder bore size matches the 3/4 inch shank diameter before clamping. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use.
