The GWS 312880 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Built from submicron-grade carbide and finished with an AlCrO-MAX coating, this tool handles hard materials and elevated cutting temperatures without sacrificing edge integrity. The 7-flute geometry and 38-degree right-hand helix angle work together to maximize material removal rates while maintaining surface finish quality. With a 1-1/4 inch mill diameter and 4-1/8 inch length of cut, this is a heavy-duty tool suited for production milling operations requiring deep axial engagement.
This end mill is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers handling ferrous alloys, hardened steels, and similar difficult-to-cut materials. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling setups. The 1-1/4 inch square shank provides solid tool holder engagement. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or industrial manufacturing environments.
Designed as a standard-shank solid carbide end mill compatible with 1-1/4 inch diameter tool holders used in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the tool holder and collet are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the workpiece, and confirm spindle speed and feed parameters match the material and coating requirements before starting the cut.
