The GWS 312275 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the Series 2213 platform, it features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.12 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. With five flutes, a variable helix, and a variable index design, this end mill is engineered for both roughing and finishing passes. The AlCr-based coating improves heat and wear resistance in high-temperature cutting environments. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling technician installs and operates this tool.
The GWS 312275 is well suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, with cast iron listed as a secondary workpiece material. Its extended reach geometry, 2-3/8 inch reach length, and 6 inch overall length make it effective in deep-pocket and shoulder-milling scenarios. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance mounts directly into standard end mill holders. It is a single-end, right-hand cut tool with a right-hand helical flute configuration. The short length-type classification and normal pitch support stable, vibration-resistant cuts in production environments.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium; secondary material is cast iron. Shank diameter tolerance is h6 for precise holder fit.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify holder bore and h6 shank clearance before clamping. Follow the machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for the end mill holder retention system, and confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut.
