The GWS 311987 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Built to Series 2205 specifications, it features a 1.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.12-inch corner radius, and five flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. The FX3 AlCr-based coating delivers thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-heat cutting environments. At 6 inches overall length with a 2.625-inch length of cut, this single-end tool handles both roughing and finishing passes. It installs in standard end mill holders with a 1.25-inch straight cylindrical shank held to h6 tolerance.

This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running ferrous and exotic alloys in aerospace, toolroom, die and mold, and general manufacturing applications. The right-hand helical flute geometry with normal pitch supports aggressive material removal rates while the corner radius reduces edge chipping and extends part surface finish quality. Cast iron is listed as a secondary workpiece material. The centercutting design allows plunge entry where the operation requires it.
