The GWS 311837 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and cast iron. It measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 3.25-inch length of cut and a 6-inch overall length, making it well suited for deep-cavity and extended-reach milling applications. The 0.03-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in high-load cuts. With 5 flutes, a variable helix, and variable index geometry, the 311837 minimizes chatter and improves surface finish during both roughing and finishing passes. It carries an AlCr-based FX3 coating applied to submicron carbide grade stock.

This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers handling ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The extra-long length type suits deep-pocket profiling, shoulder milling, and slotting operations where standard-length tooling cannot reach. The single-end, right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is compatible with standard end mill holders with an h6 shank tolerance. Compatibility

Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or locked-out state. Verify shank runout after clamping in the holder before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the holder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque for the shank diameter. Confirm coolant strategy prior to use, as this tool is not configured for coolant-through delivery.
