The GWS 311833 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding material removal in professional machining environments. With a 3/4 inch mill diameter and a 3-1/4 inch length of cut, this tool handles deep-pocket milling, slotting, and profiling operations where reach and rigidity matter. The 5-flute geometry combined with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. Applied with GWS AlCrO-MAX coating, the tool resists heat and wear during high-speed and hard-material cutting. Submicron carbide grade provides consistent edge integrity across production runs. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC milling applications.
This end mill is suited for milling a broad range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium alloys, and superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The chipbreaker geometry assists with chip control during longer cuts, making it appropriate for deep-flute passes in production and job-shop settings. The 6 inch overall length and 3/4 inch square shank fit standard CNC tool holders with h6 shank diameter tolerance, allowing direct installation without adapter modifications in most setups.
Designed for use across workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous, stainless, carbon steel, titanium, and superalloys. Series 2205. Fits standard CNC milling tool holders accepting a 3/4 inch square shank with h6 tolerance.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the 3/4 inch square shank in a compatible collet or end mill holder torqued to the machine manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly on deep-pocket operations where deflection can affect finish and tool life.
