The GWS 311067 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to a 3/4 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, this single-end tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in one pass. It features 4 flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with variable helix and variable index geometry, which reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. The FX3 coating classification provides surface protection suited to the targeted workpiece materials. Overall length is 6 inches with a 1 inch length of cut and a 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank held to h6 tolerance. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this geometry for precision metalcutting work.
This end mill is engineered primarily for steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary suitability for cast iron. The extended reach design, with a reach length of 4.125 inches, makes it suitable for deep-pocket milling and cavity work where standard-length tools cannot access the feature. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry. It mounts in standard end mill toolholders and is compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for 3/4 inch straight-shank tooling. The short length-of-cut classification supports rigidity in interrupted cuts and hard materials.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium; secondary application is cast iron. UNSPSC Code 27112803.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Verify toolholder runout and shank seating before engaging any cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer specifications for clamping torque and pull-out force ratings. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before each use to confirm no chipping is present, particularly when transitioning to harder workpiece materials.
