The GWS 310505 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding milling applications. With a 0.75-inch cutting diameter, a 3.25-inch length of cut, and a 6-inch overall length, this tool delivers the reach and rigidity needed for full-slot, pocket, and peripheral milling operations. The AlCrO-MAX coating improves heat and wear resistance at the cutting edge, extending tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting environments. The 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving machinists added flexibility without a separate drilling operation.
The 310505 is suited for milling ferrous alloys, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and composite materials corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction makes this a standard configuration compatible with conventional CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The upcut flute geometry pulls chips upward and away from the workpiece, reducing recutting and heat buildup in the cut zone. The 0.75-inch square shank with h6 tolerance ensures a secure, accurate fit in standard end mill holders and collet chucks.
Designed for use in standard 0.75-inch end mill holders and collet chucks on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer for Series 2100.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in a properly sized end mill holder or collet to the recommended engagement depth before torquing the retention fastener. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to confirm concentricity before beginning a cut.
