The GWS 310269 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and cast iron. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in aggressive applications. With 4 flutes, a variable helix, and variable index geometry, the 310269 is engineered for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The short flute length and rigid solid carbide construction make it well suited for stable, high-feed cuts where chatter control and surface finish both matter. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing are the primary users.
This end mill fits standard end mill toolholders with a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank held to h6 tolerance, making it compatible with collet chucks, hydraulic holders, and shrink-fit systems sized for 1/2 inch shanks. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length suit shallow-to-medium-depth side milling, slotting, and contouring operations. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Cast iron is a rated secondary workpiece material. The centercutting design allows plunge entry where the operation requires it.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and cast iron workpiece materials per GWS Series 2100 application data.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool path program confirmed before loading the end mill into the toolholder. Torque the toolholder retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications, not this tool. Confirm runout at the cutting edge with a dial indicator after seating to avoid premature edge failure on hard-material cuts.
