The GWS 310074 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Built to Series 2100 standards, it features a 0.25 inch cutting diameter, a 0.375 inch length of cut, and a 2.0 inch overall length on a 0.25 inch shank. The four-flute geometry and 38-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. An AlCrO-MAX finish adds heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in high-speed cutting conditions. This end mill is centercutting, allowing it to plunge directly into workpiece material. It is suited for machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working in production and job-shop environments.
The GWS 310074 is appropriate for milling slots, pockets, profiles, and contours in a range of materials. Its right-hand cut and right-hand upcut flute configuration make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills. The standard-length profile fits typical toolholder setups without extended-reach adapters. At 0.07 pounds, it is lightweight for easy handling and quick tool changes. This end mill is sized for work requiring tight dimensional tolerances and consistent finish quality across production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills accepting a 0.25 inch shank diameter with ER or straight-bore collet toolholding systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the recommended engagement depth before torquing the retention nut. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation and before beginning a cut cycle.
