The GWS 310050 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/16 inch cutting diameter, a 9/16 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length. The AlCrO-MAX coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The 38-degree helix angle and upcut flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual milling operations where tight tolerances and surface finish are required.
The GWS 310050 fits standard 3/16 inch collets and tool holders and is suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and profiling operations. The Series 2100 design is built for standard-length applications in production shops and job shops. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is compatible with conventional CNC machining center spindle rotation. It is appropriate for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys where a coated carbide tool is preferred.
Designed for use with standard 3/16 inch collets and milling tool holders in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills that accept square-shank solid carbide end mills of this diameter and length.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Secure the shank fully within the collet or tool holder to the manufacturer-recommended grip length before tightening. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide tools can fail without visible warning if damaged.
