The GWS 125662 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, a 2-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 3.04 mm (0.120 inch) corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. With three flutes and a high-helix spiral geometry, this single-end, center-cutting tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth finishes in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The bright/uncoated finish is well-suited for non-ferrous workpieces where coating adhesion is not required. This tool belongs to GWS Series 1020 and is ground from submicron carbide grade stock.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling setups for profiling, slotting, and contouring non-ferrous metal parts. The long-length configuration with a 5-inch overall length provides extended reach into deep pockets or cavities. The straight cylindrical shank with an h6 tolerance fits standard end mill toolholders and collet chucks. It is appropriate for production shops, job shops, and maintenance machining environments where non-ferrous material removal is common. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling operations.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders and collet chucks. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal including aluminum, brass, and copper. Fits any machine spindle accepting a 3/4-inch straight shank with h6 tolerance.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify the shank is fully seated and the toolholder set screw or collet nut is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to avoid premature edge wear.
