The GWS 125658 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. Built to Series 1020 standards, it features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 2-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.08 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a high helix style promotes efficient chip evacuation during roughing passes. Bright/uncoated finish is well-suited for aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion can cause built-up edge. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers select this tool for deep-cavity and extended-reach profiling work.
This end mill fits standard end mill toolholders and is appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills used in job shops, aerospace fabrication, and general metalworking. The extra-long length type and 4 inch overall length make it effective for deep-pocket milling and side-wall finishing where a standard-length tool cannot reach. The coarse pitch and roughing material removal type make it a practical choice for aggressive stock removal in non-ferrous workpieces before finish passes.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. Straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance is compatible with collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and Weldon-style toolholders sized for a 1/2 inch shank.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tool. Tighten the toolholder to the manufacturer-specified torque for the holder type in use. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling.
