The GWS 122671 is a 7-flute, single-end square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide and finished with an nACRo coating, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance compared to uncoated carbide options. The 0.5-inch mill diameter pairs with a 0.625-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length, making it well-suited for finish milling and semi-finish passes where chip evacuation and surface finish quality are priorities. The variable helix geometry reduces harmonic chatter and stabilizes cuts at higher feed rates. Installation and setup are handled by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers and vertical mills with a 0.5-inch collet or tool holder. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional spindle-rotation setups. The square shank seats securely in ER collets, shrink-fit holders, or hydraulic chucks. It is appropriate for slotting, peripheral milling, and shoulder milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where an nACRo coating provides oxidation resistance and reduced friction at elevated cutting temperatures. Series 1040 designation indicates it belongs to GWS's standard-length variable-helix product family.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and vertical mills equipped with a 0.5-inch collet, shrink-fit holder, or hydraulic chuck accepting a standard square shank.
This tool is installed and changed by CNC machinists or tool-room personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Verify collet or holder runout with a dial indicator before committing to a production cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's published speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material and coating type.
