The GWS 122619 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. Built to Series 1040 standards, it features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.01 inch corner radius and 7 flutes arranged in a variable helix, variable index geometry. This configuration reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during cuts, making it well suited for finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy matter. The 5/16 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length position it as a short-reach tool optimized for rigidity. Submicron carbide grade construction provides edge retention in hard and abrasive materials.
This end mill is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It is engineered for finishing cuts in steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, stainless steel, and hard materials. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry and is compatible with standard end mill holders using a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank held to h6 tolerance. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC vertical and horizontal machining center setups.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials; secondary compatibility includes stainless steel.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification before running. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide is brittle and damaged edges can fracture under load. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are set for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool.
