The GWS 121592 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 1-inch (25.40 mm) mill diameter, a 0.120-inch corner radius, and four helical flutes, this tool balances material removal rate with surface finish quality. The FX1 (nACo) coating extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting environments. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic chatter, making this end mill suitable for aggressive roughing passes as well as finish milling in a single tool. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician is the intended installer and operator.
This end mill is built for production and job-shop environments cutting steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, which simplifies programming on CNC machining centers. With a 2.50-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length, the tool suits medium-depth pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations. It is used with standard end mill holders compatible with a 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank ground to h6 tolerance.
Designed for use with end mill holders accepting a 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials; secondary material is stainless steel.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC programmer familiar with cutting tool setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify holder bore cleanliness and shank runout with a dial indicator before committing to a production run, as runout directly impacts tool life and surface finish. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut for the specific workpiece material being cut.
