The GWS 121547 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to a 3/4 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius and a 2-1/4 inch length of cut, this tool handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. The 4-flute, variable helix, variable index geometry reduces harmonics and chatter, improving surface finish and tool life. At 5 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank held to h6 tolerance, it seats securely in standard end mill holders used on CNC machining centers.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The variable helix and centercutting design make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and ramp-entry operations where clean entry and consistent chip evacuation are required. The submicron carbide grade and FX1 coating classification support extended tool life in abrasive and high-hardness workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators running production or job-shop work on ferrous and exotic alloys will find this a practical general-purpose tool across multiple material groups.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per the manufacturer material application ratings. Part of the GWS Series 1030 product line.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specifications before running. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an estop or feed-hold state before any tool change. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, particularly after interrupted cuts or work in hard materials.
