The GWS 121429 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.005 inch corner radius that reduces chipping and extends tool life at cutting edges. With 4 flutes, a right-hand cutting direction, and a variable helix and variable index geometry, it balances efficient chip evacuation with reduced vibration during roughing and finishing passes. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1/4 inch in diameter with an h6 shank diameter tolerance, making it compatible with standard end mill toolholders. Overall length is 2.5 inches. This tool is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC or manual milling operations.
The GWS 121429 is intended for milling steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its submicron carbide grade and single-end, centercutting configuration make it well suited for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where edge integrity and dimensional accuracy are critical. It is used in job shops, production machining environments, and tool rooms where a broad range of ferrous and exotic workpiece materials are encountered. The normal pitch flute configuration supports consistent chip load across varied cutting conditions.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece material compatibility includes stainless steel.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using a compatible end mill toolholder torqued per toolholder manufacturer specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured with proper collet or set-screw engagement before operation. Confirm shank diameter tolerance match between the tool and holder before clamping. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
