The GWS 121345 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to Series 1035 specifications, it features a 1/4-inch (0.2500-inch) cutting diameter, a 0.015-inch corner radius, and five flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. The extra-long 3-inch overall length paired with a 1-1/8-inch length of cut makes it well suited for deep-pocket milling and extended-reach work. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the nACo (FX1) coating provides thermal and wear resistance for ferrous and hard-material applications.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where precision contouring, slotting, and roughing-to-finishing operations are required in a single tool. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Secondary suitability covers stainless steel. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance mounts directly into standard end mill holders. The extra-long reach is particularly useful when accessing deep features or working around fixturing obstructions.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (material codes P, K, M, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and degrade surface finish.
