The GWS 120686 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in CNC machining and manual milling operations. With a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-5/8-inch length of cut, and a 3-1/2-inch overall length, this three-flute tool is built for rigidity and efficient chip evacuation. The 37-degree helix angle combined with an upcut, right-hand flute geometry promotes smooth cutting action and helps pull chips away from the workpiece. The uncoated solid carbide construction offers high hardness and thermal resistance suited to a range of workpiece materials.
The 120686 is intended for use in professional machine shop environments and production settings where dimensional accuracy is critical. Its Series 1020 designation and standard length classification make it a straightforward fit for common milling applications across multiple material categories. The h6 shank diameter tolerance ensures consistent tool holder engagement and reliable runout performance during extended machining cycles.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated in the supplier specification. Designed as a standard-length replacement or production end mill for 5/8-inch collet or end mill holders accepting a square shank with h6 tolerance.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder and torque the retention hardware to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the first cut.
