The GWS 120682 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and three helical flutes in a right-hand cutting direction. With a 1 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length, this single-end, center-cutting tool is built for controlled material removal in production and job-shop environments. The submicron carbide grade provides edge integrity during demanding cuts. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this tool in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where corner geometry must be held to close tolerance.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations on non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. Its coarse pitch and high helix style support chip evacuation in gummy or soft alloys. The 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance mounts directly into standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling systems without additional adapters. It is appropriate for both horizontal and vertical spindle orientations in light-to-medium material removal passes.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines configured for right-hand cutting tools targeting non-ferrous metal workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before installing or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades corner radius accuracy.
