The GWS 1034042 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on a submicron carbide substrate and coated with GWS FX7, it delivers durability and wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. The 1/2 inch diameter cutter features a 0.015 inch corner radius and four helical flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. This combination reduces harmonic vibration and chatter, improving surface finish and tool life. At 3 inches overall length with a 5/8 inch length of cut, it is suited to short-reach finishing and roughing operations. Licensed machinists and CNC mill operators are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This end mill is rated for primary use in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, and handles secondary materials including non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting, right-hand flute tool with a straight-cylindrical shank sized at 1/2 inch with an h6 tolerance, making it compatible with standard end mill holders. The short length type and centercutting capability make it practical for plunge entry and slotting as well as peripheral milling in tight setups on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Secondary workpiece materials include non-ferrous metal, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. UNSPSC code 27112803.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tool-and-die professional. Secure the 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank in a compatible end mill holder torqued to the holder manufacturer specification before spindle operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting to protect both the tool and workpiece. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material and coating grade.
