The GWS 1034039 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 3/8 inch diameter, a 0.0300 inch corner radius, and four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration, this tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single pass. The FX7 coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat management at the cutting edge. Variable index and variable helix geometry reduce chatter and improve surface finish across a broad range of workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance departments will find this tool suited to tight-tolerance contouring and profiling operations.
The 1034039 is engineered for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding its utility in slotting and pocket milling applications. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard end mill toolholders and collet chucks without modification. With a 7/8 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length, this tool is well suited to shallow-to-mid-depth features in both prototype and production runs.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Secondary workpiece materials include non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a full stop and locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended gauge line before torquing the retention mechanism. Inspect the collet or chuck bore for runout before seating the tool, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and toolholder documentation for specific clamping force requirements.
