The GWS 101091 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch diameter cutting profile with a 3/8 inch length of cut and a 37-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during aggressive cuts. With three flutes and a bright, uncoated finish, this end mill is purpose-built for the aluminum-specific demands of the Alumigator 1026 Series. The submicron carbide grade delivers edge sharpness and wear resistance well suited for production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in aerospace, automotive, and general fabrication shops will find this tool a reliable choice for finishing and profiling aluminum workpieces.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous materials are common. The extended reach design with a 2-7/8 inch reach length allows access to deeper pockets and features that shorter tools cannot reach. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. Center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling a pilot hole.
Belongs to the GWS Alumigator Series 1026, designed for milling aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous materials in standard 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The tool must be secured in a properly sized 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder with adequate clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before mounting, and verify runout with a dial indicator to ensure accurate setup and tool life.
