The GWS 101024 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling applications, particularly in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built on the Alumigator Series 1026 platform, it features a 37-degree helix angle with an upcut, right-hand flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces built-up edge. The cutting diameter is 0.1875 inches with a matching 0.1875-inch shank diameter and a 3-inch overall length. The submicron carbide grade delivers rigidity and wear resistance at elevated feed rates. This tool ships bright and uncoated, which is standard for aluminum-optimized end mills.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where precision slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling of aluminum, brass, copper, and other soft non-ferrous alloys are required. The extended reach design, with a 1.5-inch reach length, makes it useful for accessing deeper features or stepped pockets without a tool change. The center-cutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Typical users include CNC machinists, toolmakers, and production shops running aluminum components in aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing environments.
Part of the GWS Alumigator Series 1026, designed for use in aluminum and soft non-ferrous milling applications. Compatible with standard 3/16-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems that accept a 0.1875-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked per shop safety procedures. Use a calibrated torque wrench and appropriate collet or end mill holder to secure the shank - refer to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications for clamping torque. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before running at full feed and speed. Follow applicable OSHA machine guarding and PPE requirements when operating CNC or manual milling equipment.
