The GUHRING 9199590079400 is a single-end solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material categories. Built on GUHRING Series 19959, it features a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter, a 13/16 inch (0.8125 inch) length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length with a straight cylindrical 5/16 inch shank. The variable helix geometry, running between 35 and 38 degrees, reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during aggressive cuts. A FIREX coating extends tool life when cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The tool is center-cutting and runs right-hand cutting with right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant alloys, and hard materials. It is classified for primary workpiece material codes K, M, P, and S, and secondary workpiece material code H, covering cast iron, stainless steel, steel, and superalloys. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and contouring in CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments. The standard-length configuration keeps deflection low in short-reach applications.
Compatible with primary workpiece material codes K (cast iron), M (non-ferrous), P (steel), and S (superalloys/heat-resistant alloys), and secondary workpiece material code H (hard materials). Designed for use in standard 5/16 inch collets and end mill holders with straight-bore cylindrical clamping.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the tool holder bore and collet are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
