The GUHRING 9199590063500 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. It features a 1/4-inch cutting diameter, a 3/4-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length with a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank. The four-flute, right-hand helical design incorporates a variable helix angle ranging from 35 to 38 degrees, which reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during aggressive cuts. A FIREX coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life compared to uncoated carbide. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. It is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals working in CNC and manual milling operations.
This end mill is suited for milling cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, and superalloys, corresponding to material codes K, M, P, and S, with secondary capability in hard materials (code H). Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before installing or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retaining nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a variable-helix carbide tool.
